BECAUSE WE MAKE A LIVING BY WHAT WE GET, BUT MAKE LIVES BY WHAT WE GIVE, SERVING OTHERS IS SOMETHING WE SHOULD START DOING!

Divine Wisdom: The passage, “Those who in charity spend of their goods by night and by day, in secret and in public, have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve” Surah Al-Baqara – QN2:274, reminds us of why generous people tend to focus more of their time and effort on what they can give to others and not what they can get from them because giving is the loftiest level of living and the more we give, the better our attitude becomes, the greater our successes and victories, Ma Shaa Allah! A concept many simply do not understand and go through life thinking it is the amount we possess that determines the amount we should share.

In other words, because we make a living by what we get, but make lives by what we give, serving others is something we should start doing today.

So let the knowledge that:
1) The only way to maintain an attitude of generosity is to make a habit of giving of our time, attentiveness, money, and resources;
2) The very act of letting go of money or other treasures, destroys the demon of greed within us; and
3) Our reasons for granting or denying requests for assistance may be valid, but they must also be godly;
Teach you, in the spirit of this Hajj season, before responding to any request for assistance, to remember that “Anyone who is niggardly does so at the expense of their own souls” QN47:38; so better to think about how it feels when you give and let that be your guide!

Pray with me: O Allah! Your words teach us that good fruit is produced from a good tree. Likewise, kindness flows not from a heart made of stone, but from a new heart given to us through Your held. Ya Rabb! mould us to better reflect Your image. Shape our hearts, minds, and souls that we might learn to give as freely as You give us. Please, teach us to be kind in heart, so that love, grace, and charity flow in us like a river. Give us a generosity that reflects your own, by Your Mercy. Amin.

Good morning. Jumah Mufeedah and a Blessed weekend ahead!

There is love in sharing
