Divine Wisdom: The passage
“Help one another in acts of piety and righteousness… And be aware of Allah.” Surah Al-Maida – QN5:2, reminds us of the Prophet (s.a.w) teaching that “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter.” (Muslim). So those who shy away from eating with the poor and needy that, or helping a friend in dire need because of a wrong done to us in the past, We have been tasked to break the rules to be with them, talk about what they are interested in, go into their world to bring them to life, brake the ice and offer them friendship and useful sustenance among others.
In other words, we should let loose and not take advantage of people, but reach out, redeem and restore life in them.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Everyone we meet is either hung up on the past, anxious about the future or in dire need of a friend;
2) To help them out, we must get over our own fear of rejection, start from where they are, not where we think they should be, and use words they understand; and
3) We may lose face if they say no, but they will lose a lot more if they never get to hear the message of salvation through your actions;
Teach you, whenever you find such people, to be the first to show love and compassion! TGIF
Pray with me: O Allah! You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship but You. My Lord, I seek Your face for sustainable sustenance and wisdom in living life such as pleases You. Perfect my every action to meet up with Your promises for me and my household, Amin.
