Divine Wisdom: The passage, “Behold, He approached his Lord with a sound heart” Surah As-Saaffat – QN37:84, reminds us that, without faith, it is impossible to please God. When Pht Ibrahim (a.s), approached God with a pure heart to please Him against all odds, he was greatly rewarded beyond his imaginations extending to generations upon generations, Ma Shaa Allah. Hence, while we usually think of faith in terms of getting answers to our prayers and receiving from God things that He alone can provide, a more important reason for building up our faith is that, without it, it is impossible to please Him, therefore everyone who comes to Him must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
In other words, what pleases Him is our faith and will of obedience and that which displeases Him is our lack of faith and will to obey Him.
So let the knowledge that:
1) The soothing words “I am indeed near! I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me” Surah Al-Baqara – QN2:186, is a sincere sentiment, of ‘ask and you shall be given’ which is completely accurate, but the battle is actually between us and the forces of the devil;
2) As the same verse continues “Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me” Surah Baqara – QN2:186; and
3) He is moved by our needs, He responds to our faith and we are welcome to approach Him at any time with ‘a will’;
Teach you to first get into His Word, get His Word into you and thereafter, pray and things will begin to change for the better in your life!
Pray with me: O Allah! I come to You with a pure heart and strong will to keep to Your words. Help me to overcome any forces of the devil and detractors. Please anoint me as one of Your most Beloved, empower me with the Grace to Listen, Obey and Conquer, and reward me abundantly. Amin.
Good morning. Jumah Mufeedah and a great weekend ahead!
