Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“You will find me, if Allah so wills, as one practising Patience and Constancy!” Surah As-Saaffaat – QN37:102, reminds us that, it is common for nonbelievers and sometimes even believers to ask such questions as ‘Am I really serving God?’ or ‘which God is this that I’m serving?’ particularly when times are hard and our faith is sorely tested; but as in the story of Pht Ibrahim (a.s) and his son, Ismael (a.s), whose unwavering submission to the will of Almighty Allah, is been celebrated yearly; shows that all who fear God and trust in him are blessed beyond expression and those who delight in doing his commands are guaranteed of happiness, we should continue to praise Him.
In other words, His constant care of those who serve Him never fails to make a deep impression on all who see it.
So let the knowledge that:
1) The benefits of serving God include happiness, children we can be proud of, success, influence and honour;
2) Those of us who serve Him will not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen, for we are settled in our minds that He will take care of us; and
3) When darkness overtakes us, light will come bursting in and it shall be well with us; Teach you, this Eid-Ul-Adha and particularly at a time like this when just about everyone you know is going through serious issues, to find it within yourself to keep on praising Him and celebrate the faithfulness of Allah!
Pray with me: O Allah! I pray to You to tie me and my offsprings to the blessings of prophet Ibrahim (a.s). Just as You replaced the adversities and sadness of Pht Ibrahim with everlasting joy and happiness which we celebrate today and till eternity, Ya Rabb! Cause Your face to shine upon us, banish any feelings of sadness and adversities in my life and replace with everlasting joy layered with unspeakable successes and cause me and my offsprings good mention on the lips of humankind, that we may celebrate Your praises all the days of our lives, Amin!
Good morning. Happy Eid-Ul-Adha and a wonderful celebration full of thanksgiving.
