Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“But those who disbelieve say, ‘What doth Allah wish to teach by such a similitude?” QN2:26, reminds us that, it is common for nonbelievers and sometimes even believers to ask such questions, particularly when times are hard and we feel consumed by the pressure around us, and our faith is sorely tested; but because all who fear God and trust in him are blessed beyond expression and those who delight in doing his commands are guaranteed of happiness – QN2:155-157, we should continue to praise Him.
In other words, His constant care of those who serve Him never fails to make a deep impression on all who see it.
So let the knowledge that:
1) The benefits of serving God include happiness, inner peace, children we can be proud of, success, influence and honour;
2) Those of us who serve Him will not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen, for we are settled in our minds that He will take care of us; and
3) When darkness overtakes us, light will come bursting in and it shall be well with us;
Teach you, particularly at a time like this when the entire world is going into lock down, and as we ‘stay at home’ to ‘stay safe’, to find it within yourself to spend quality time in the remembrance of Allah and keep on praising Him. It is well!
Pray with me: O Allah, there is no ease except in that which you have made easy. We hold on to Your promise in Quran 94 vs 5, that after very difficulty, there will come relief. Our Lord, guide us right and make plain to us what You wish to achieve by this pandemic and thereafter accept our repentance, preserve us and keep us alive to tell our story in total joy and laughter, by Your Mercy!
