IF INDEED, OUR GOAL IS FOR PERSONAL GROWTH, WE SHOULD TAKE REGULAR TIME OUT FOR REFLECTIVE THINKING!

Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow” QN59:18, reminds us that, personal reflection is the only way to grow personally and in our walk with God, strengthen our relationship with the people who matter and, use the gifts and sharpen the skills given to us; but because it requires solitude, it is just not the kind of something we can do well with the television turned on, someone chatting away on the phone or children running around in the same room.
In other words, it simply doesn’t mix well with distraction.

So let the knowledge that:
1) We all have 24 hours each day and if we spend just one of them reflecting, we will be amazed at how it will enrich our lives;
2) When our soul is regularly updated; Just as Calendars and dairies help show whether our activities are matching our priorities and whether or not, we are making the desired progress; “if you were to count God’s favours, you would not be able to enumerate them” QN16:18; and
3) If indeed, our goal is for personal growth, we should take regular time out for reflective thinking;
Teach you, as we start the New Year, to commit to spending more time alone with yourself and your God, in enriching your soul. Thereafter, count your blessings and keep on track.

Pray with me: O Allah! This year, I recommit my entire being to You, help me to be a better person, enrich my soul with Your spirit and make me a pathfinder of progress for Your people.

Good morning. Jumah Mufeedah and a splendid weekend ahead!
