Divine Wisdom: The passage, “And he cried through the darkness, there is no Allah save You. Be Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer.” Suraj Al-Anbiyaa – QN21:87, reminds us of Pht Yunus (a.s) who walked away when his preaching to the people of Ninevah yielded no fruits and boarded a ship to go far away from the scene of his failure. When a hurricane struck his ship, plunging everyone into despair and Yunus had to be thrown in the sea. God ordered a whale to swallow him. Yunus descends to the bottom of the sea, filled with total despair, worst of all, the darkness of despair! He cried out to Allah! “la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina alththalimeena” QN21:87. With the Mercy of God, the whale swims up to the surface and ejects Yunus onto the shore. This occurrence, caused the people of Ninevah to turn to Allah. His message eventually got through to them.
In other words, though every circumstance points to tragedy and our demise, we will live to see our dreams fulfilled; Just Pht Yunus (a.s) was totally in d darkness of despair, God had used same vessel (the whale) that caused him despair to bring him safely to land again to see the effect of his preaching come to pass. Allah Akbar!!!
So let the knowledge that:
1) There will be times in our lives when God seems distant;
2) We will pray but feel abandoned, be at the mercy of our circumstances, afraid and hopeless and have all our warnings disregarded by those in authority; but
3) If we all turn to God, He will see us through our storms and do the same for our family members, friends and society at large;
Teach you, even with the challenges before you today, to remain courageous, step out in faith and keep right on walking!
Pray with me: O Allah! There is no god save You. Be Glorified! Even though I have been a wrong-doer, forgive my sins and protect me from the effects of my sins. Expand for me Your vessel of grace and me good in this world and hereafter, that I may sing Your praises till the end of time. Amin.
