Divine Wisdom: The passage, “God does not waste the reward of those who do good” QN12:90, reminds us that, it is easy to forget that this world is not our home – Qn57:20, that we are going to spend eternity with our God in a garden beneath which rivers flow with everything as fresh as ever – QN2:25, especially prepared for us and when we eventually get to heaven we will be rewarded for how well we fulfilled our God-given assignment here on earth and while we still enjoyed earthly rewards, God reserves His greatest blessings for the day when each man’s work will become evident.
In other words, it is our service in the here and now that determines our status in the hereafter.
So let the knowledge that:
1) We are impressed with size and status, but God is moved by sincerity;
2) He rewards us based on what we did with what we had and the ‘heart’ which we put into it; and
3) At His own time and in His own way, our God who sees everything will reward us;
Teach you, as we wake up to a new week, to try to render service to God and to Humanity. Then after when you might have served, given and sacrificed, to willingly give God all the glory and wait patiently for your reward here and the hereafter. Ma Shaa Allah!
Pray with me: O Allah! Thanking You always for the gift of life. Please continue to direct my path. Shower me with divine mercy and favour even as You use me as an instrument to perfect Your purpose on the earth, by Your Grace.
