Divine Wisdom: The passage, “If they incline to peace, incline you also to it, and trust in Allah.” Surah Al-Anfaal – QN8:61, reminds us that, there are times in friendships when, one person may outgrow the relationship, but realising that we can all learn from our mistakes and grow through them, it should be handled with love and wisdom, and the best resolution to a conflict, even if it is going to be temporary, is a private space, because when emotions run high, we need space to think clearly and God can use this time of lone spacing for His glory.
In other words, the highest form of humility is displayed when a leader can rethink his position and come to a different conclusion.
So let the knowledge that:
1) The only behaviour that we have the power to change is our own and when we realise that we have done wrong, we must acknowledge it and work towards making amends;
2) Mistakes may be bad, but they are never as bad as the pride that seeks to defend and perpetuate them; and
3) We must agree to disagree and when temporary spacing becomes the best option, we need to agree on how long it will be for us to meditate and amend our ways;
Teach you, in the spirit of this Hajj season, if you want to grow in every way to be more and more in God’s own image, to always speak the truth in love with wisdom!
