Divine Wisdom: The passage, “show patience, Firmness and self-control…” Surah Aal-i-Imraan – QN3:17, reminds those when in adversity who tend to make snap decisions only to end up wondering if they did the right thing that, while the digital age, which makes it easy for us to communicate quickly through emails, texts, and tweets has great advantages, it also has disadvantages, one of which is that, it doesn’t cultivate in us a desire to think about things deeply, a requirement for defusing doubt and gaining confidence for future decision making.
In other words, no matter how hard we try, we just can’t microwave personal growth.
So let the knowledge that:
1) God alone appoints both prosperity and adversity;
2) Reflective thinking encourages us to go back and spend time pondering on that which we have done and seen; and
3) An experience only becomes valuable when, it serves to both Inform, and equip us;
Teach you, in order to avoid making the same mistake over and over again, to always stop and carefully examine the process that led to it!
Pray with me: O Allah! Help me to gain more knowledge, wisdom and understanding in my journey of life. Bless me abundantly with the spirit of patience, calmness and firmness, that I may make right decisions and take right steps at the right times, and be renewed in strength for a greater me, by Your Mercy.
