Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“I shall not lose sight of the labour of any of you who labours in My way” Surah Al-Imraan – QN3:195, reminds us that, just as Pht Yunus (a.s) gave up and moved out from his post of Assignment, only to be thrown aboard and found himself in the belly of a whale, all because he chose the wrong direction and lost; while Pht Ibrahim (a.s) chose the right direction and won, we must run with endurance the race God has set before us.
In other words, we must learn to give up short-term gratification for long-term fulfilment.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Nothing is more important in life than the choices we make;
2) We are surrounded by huge crowds of witnesses to the life of faith and must strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up; and
3) We can easily do this by keeping our mind and eyes on God, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith;
Teach you, when you need to make a choice, to first consider its effect on your character, sense of self-respect, and confidence when next you approach Him in prayer!
Pray with me: O Allah! Pour out Your grace upon us, grant us mercy all over our land, help us with peace of mind to worship You as we so desire and favour us more on our path to righteousness. Amin!
Good morning. Jumah Kareem and a blissful weekend ahead!
