The passage, “and join together in the mutual enjoining of truth, and of patience and constancy”. QN103:3, reminds those with special needs for character building or addictions who, because they have struggled with it for so long and doubt if they will ever conquer it, tend to think others would reject them if they knew their little secret that, when we dare to lift up our hearts and let others see what is inside, they will be challenged and encouraged to open up and share their own basket of woes with us.
In other words, once we are finally able to muster the strength to be honest with ourselves and others, we find healing.
So let the knowledge that:
1) God comforts us in our times of trouble so that we can comfort others with that which we ourselves have received;
2) A friend loves at all times and in times of adversity, strengthen one another – QN3:200, and
3) The greatest healing often takes place when we no longer feel isolated by our guilt or shame;
Teach you, whatever it is that may be troubling you, to refuse to let pride keep you from conquering your problem and reach out for help today!
Pray with me: O Allah! Do not allow shame to prevail over me. Shower Your Favour and mercy upon me and guide me right. Surround me with good and Godly people who You will use to actualize Your purpose for me and grant me inner peace of mind, by Your Grace.
