ONE HALF OF KNOWING WHAT WE WANT, IS KNOWING THAT WHICH WE MUST GIVE UP IN ORDER TO GET IT!

Divine Wisdom: The passage, “Surely We created man of the best stature. Then we reduced him to the lowest of the low, Save those who believe and do good works, and theirs is a reward unfailing.” Surah At-Tin – QN95:4-6, reminds us of the saying ‘to whom much is given much more is expected.’ To man, God gave the purest and best nature, and man’s duty is to preserve the pattern on which God has made him. A look at the past weeks’ schedule is likely to show we failed to devote much of our time to regular, disciplined activities that please Him or did anything to grow and improve ourselves and if we have been putting these things off and telling ourselves that we will do them later, we desperately need to start working on our self-discipline.

In other words, one half of knowing what we want, is knowing that which we must give up in order to get it.

So let the knowledge that:
1) Anything we have done in a particular way for a given amount of time can always be done better;
2) There is a price to pay to reach the next level and with God’s help, we can keep improving; and
3) Since improvement requires some degree of risk and failure, we should always pick places where growth and experimentation are encouraged;
Teach you, starting today, to discipline yourself, be willing to start with small things, get into the right environment and believe that you can always do it better!

Pray with me: O Allah! I seek Your grace in helping me to be a better version of whom You have created me to be.

Good evening and have a blessed weekend ahead!

There is love in sharing
