Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“If Allah is your helper none can overcome you, and if He withdraw His help from you, who is there who can help you after Him? In Allah let believers put their trust.”QN3:160, reminds us of God’s promises to the effect that, He is the Lord our God who always comes to our rescue when we go through deep waters and great trouble, pass through rivers of difficulty, walk through the fire of oppression and are tempted to have fearful and hasty hearts, but always come out untouched, victorious and stronger.
In other words, the best way to overcome fear and worry is to personalise His promises.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Underlying our deepest fears are thoughts, which may be expressed publicly or entertained privately;
2) If we fail to arrest and change them, they will capture and control us; and
3) One of the most powerful weapons that God has given us for conquering fear and worry is the ability to personalise His promises;
Teach you, even as we start a new week, to be more determined on living our lives purely on His promises for us, it’s then we can be victorious and stronger!
Pray with me: O Allah! I step out today in faith. Help me to be strong and courageous as Your promises manifest in my actions, my victories and my achievements by Your Mercy.
