Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty” Surah Al-Jumu’a – QN62:4, reminds us that, the word ‘bounty’ means favour, gifts, which literally means grace and since we cannot earn, qualify for, work for or deserve spiritual gifts, but because God expects nothing from us but failure, he has already endowed us with His Spirit of Grace, so that we need not fail.
In other words, we are like gloves which the Spirit of grace within us fills, moves and uses to accomplish that which needs to be done.
So let the knowledge that:
1) God’s gifts are not things that we get by study, practice, or inheritance;
2) Rather than highly developed natural talents, they are supernatural endowments that enable us to carry out His will in His way; and
3) They are diversities of gifts which God gives to us individually and as He wills; Teach you, this last day and last Friday before the three months of fasting (Rajab, Shaaban & Ramadan), if indeed you desire success in this life, to learn the ways of the Almighty and always lean on His power!
Pray with me: O Allah! I commit the next three months to You, grant me the strength to observe the fasting, help me to feed on Your words daily, and favour me much that I may walk in Your words every day of my life. Amin.
Good morning. Jumah Kareem and Happy fasting months in advance!
