THE GREATEST INDICTMENT AGAINST NOT KNOWING IS FAILURE ON OUR PART, TO LEARN FROM PAST EXPERIENCES!

The passage, “And help one another unto righteousness and pious duty…” QN5:2, reminds those who, because they think too highly of themselves and therefore tend to get easily offended when someone corrects them that, as the Quran 103:1-3 puts it “By time, surely man is in loss, save those who believe and do good deeds, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience” teaches us that ‘timely advice is lovely. It’s like golden apples and to one who listens, valid criticism is like a gold earring’.

In other words, when looked at from the right perspective, every experience in life is like passing through a school and every acquaintance, a potential teacher.

So let the knowledge that:
1) Life owes us nothing except an opportunity to grow;
2) We need people in our lives who are willing to help us get from where are, to where we need to get to; and
3) The greatest indictment against not knowing is a failure on our part, to learn from past experiences and listen to words of Wisdom;
Teach you, in every interaction, to observe boundaries, respect others, listen before you speak and seize every opportunity to learn and remember “He that receives guidance benefits his own soul…” QN39:41

Pray with me: O Allah! I thank You for this new month and for Your favours upon me and my household. Please surround me with people richly blessed in wisdom and speak through them to guide me and help me to attain my fullest potentials by Your mercy.
