THE MORE CALMLY WE APPROACH SITUATIONS, THE MORE CLEARLY, WE WILL SEE HOW TO HANDLE THEM!

Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loves the good-doers” QN3:134, reminds those who say they get mad easily because they were born with that nature that, anger is like a river, when controlled can generate enough electricity to power an entire city and uncontrolled, can overflow its banks and become a raging flood that destroys everything in its path and as surely as a river can be controlled, so can our temper.

In other words, while people with understanding control their anger, a hot-tempered person shows great foolishness.

So let the knowledge that:
1) As Believers, we have the spirit of God living within us, and one of the fruits of the Spirit is ‘self-control’ which means we can control our temper;
2) As the Prophet (s.a.w) so aptly puts it, “the powerful man is not the one who can wrestle, but the powerful man is the one who can control himself at the time of anger”; and
3) The more calmly we approach situations, the more clearly, we will see how to handle them;
Teach you, when angry, if you happen to have a quick temper, to count to ten before you speak and when really angry, to count to one hundred and thereafter, say absolutely nothing!

Pray with me: O Allah! I beseech You to help me conquer any form of a bad habit that may stand in my way of progress and drench me in Your Spirit of forgiving that I may continue to meet with Your divine favours in and out, by Your Mercy.

Good morning. Jumah Mubarak and a happy weekend ahead!
