Divine Wisdom: The passage, “Allah is the guardian of those who believe. He brings them out from the depth of darkness into light; and as to those who disbelieve, their guardian is shaitan who take them out of light into the darkness…” Surah Al-Baqara – Q2:257, reminds us that, like Fungus which grows best in the dark but withers and dies when we turn on the light, those who do evil deeds, tend to prefer darkness to light because secrecy is the ideal environment for sin to grow until ultimately, we’re taken captive by evil thoughts, deeds and habits.
In other words, once we have turned on the light, the fungus begins to wither, its grip loosens and freedom dawns.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Staying in darkness intensifies our cycle of secrecy and slavery to sin; and
2) Once we step into the light everything changes, your life becomes new, you begin to grow in faith, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, the power of Allah begins to manifest in your life. Ma Shaa Allah!
Therefore, this last Friday in the month of Jumada and before we enter into the three sacred months, let us reminiscence on our life, confess our secret sins and, through God’s strength, reclaim your power to overcome sin and live victoriously!
Pray with me: O Allah! With a heart full of gratitude I come to You. Forgive my open and secret sins, refresh my soul towards You Alone and grant me undeniable victory every where I turn, by Your Grace. Amin.
