Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“I have given you the capacity for hearing, sight, and the intellect, and you are responsible for using them effectively… This is of the wisdom inspired to you by your Lord.” QN17:36-39, reminds us that we have no excuse for not developing our minds and growing intellectually. We must know that three (3) key activities determine our future; namely, time spent with God, the relationships we form and the books we read because we now measure ourselves by a different yardstick, which is personal growth.
In other words, intellectual growth comes with a sense of fulfilment where our sense of worth is no longer tied to other people’s approval. However, having the right people in our lives boosts our confidence to forge ahead!
So let the knowledge that:
1) To grow and become sharp, we need people in our lives who sharpen us;
2) We learn by listening and observing, which is not about hours spent watching television that dulls our brains and stunts our powers of conversation; and
3) When we know we are growing in knowledge and understanding, we become less vulnerable to criticism, neglect and slights;
Teach you, this new week to give heed to reading, improve in good thoughts, relate more with wise people who are wisdom-filled, and sharpen your mind for a more bubbly life that will position you for greater achievements!
Pray with me: O Allah! Grant me peace of mind as my heart desires to seek You. Be my light and help me identify and choose the right steps, right people, right ways. Be my strength and help me to step up and remain steadfast in Your love. By Your power, I accept that You will perfect everything that concerns me. Amin.
