WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIKE EACH OTHER, BUT OUR SURVIVAL AND SUCCESS IS DEPENDENT ON US GETTING ALONG TOGETHER!

Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“He fashioned you in due proportion… and He gave you the faculties of hearing (ears) and sight (eyes) and feeling (hands) and understanding (Brain)….” Surah As-Sajda – QN32:9, reminds us that, wildebeests and zebras migrate together because, one has poor eyesight and a keen sense of smell, while the other has good eyesight and a poor sense of smell, making them less vulnerable to attack because of differences that compensate for weaknesses, likewise, if the whole body were an eye, there would be no sense of hearing and if it were an ear, there would be no sense of smell.

In other words, we do not have to like each other, but our survival and success are dependent on us getting along together.

So let the knowledge that:
1) Membership as a body in Islam, throws us together with people who are as different from us as a hand is from a nose;
2) At times, those differences can rub us the wrong way, but they are differences designed to benefit us; and
3) Our spiritual growth does not depend on agreeing with everybody, but it does depend on loving them enough to live together;

Teach you, in the spirit of celebrating Nigeria at 60 to always remember the verse in our National anthem ‘One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity’, to be more accommodating of those who are more or less like you!

Pray with me: O Allah! Thank You for Your love for me. Grant me the grace to live a life that respects and enhances the lives of others. Amin

Good morning. Jumah Mubarak. Happy Independence and enjoy a graceful weekend!

There is love in sharing
