Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“…completed My favour unto you” QN5:3, reminds us that, God’s divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life, but living life to the fullest requires the extra-mile principle. The Quran teaches us, which is why we tend to beat 50 per cent of the people by working hard, the other 40 per cent by being persons of honesty and integrity who always stand for something and the last 10 per cent we overcome through dogged fights.
In other words, to win, we should always do ‘a little extra’, put in our best and find the right mentors, then, with divine grace, you shall always achieve goodness and greatness.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Good mentors lead by example and they know that to be followed, they must first be respected;
2) They know whether we learn visually or verbally and whether we need a pat on the back or a kick in the seat; and
3) We simply cannot push people up ladders unless they themselves are willing to climb them;
Teach you, this new month of Dhu’l Qi’dah, if you have not yet identified great mentors in your life, to pray and look out for them and then begin to pattern your life after theirs while still having your mind fixed on God’s purpose and promises for you!
Pray with me: O Allah! Thank you for the gift of life and for surrounding me with good and godly people. Help me to identify my path, have my mind fixed on You and Perfect my path to exceptional goodness and greatness, by Your Mercy. Amin.
Good morning and have a great week!
