Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“Endure patiently, your endurance is only by the help of Allah. Grieve not and be not in distress” QN16:28, reminds us that, focusing on our circumstances just causes more anxiety, because while circumstances constantly change and often spin out of our control, God never changes, and nothing ever spins out of His control. So what worry does, is to rob us of the peace that comes from knowing He who can handle anything and through whom all things are possible.
In other words, we worry so much because we constantly engage in exactly the opposite behaviour to that which brings peace.
So let the knowledge that:
1) God is either the object of our trust or just a part-time helper we call on when we can no longer handle things on our own;
2) Every time we give in to worry, we are in essence saying, we do not believe He can or will handle the situation for us; and
3) Only when we begin to see Him as playing the major role in our lives and us, the minor one, will we begin to find the peace which has eluded us for so long;
Teach you that, it is not your circumstance, but how you think about it that robs you of peace. So this beautiful Monday morning, learn to endure staying safe at home!
Pray with me: O Allah! Enlighten my mind with truth. Inflame my heart with love. Inspire my will with courage. Enrich my life with service to You and mankind. Please Pardon what I have been, purify what I am, order what I shall be, and give me Your wisdom and fill me with Your peace.
Good morning and have a splendid week!
