Divine Wisdom: The passage,
“O you who believe! When you meet with adversaries, be firm, and call Allah in remembrance much and often; that you may prosper” Surah Al-Anfaal – QN8:45 reminds us that, just as a successful businessman who, at the beginning of a motivational speech before an audience of discouraged businessmen in a small town where the local economy had gone bad, used the graphic illustration of a dot on a piece of paper to show that those little disappointments in life that try to monopolise our attention and drain our energy are of less importance than the least of our successes.
In other words, when we focus too much on the little things in life, we miss out on the things that are of most importance.
So let the knowledge that:
1) Opportunities and obstacles go together like bread and butter – QN95:5;
2) Every time a great and effective door opens to us, there will be many adversaries; and
3) Rather than deny the reality of the opposition we face, we should focus on the opportunity that it presents – QN103:1-3;
Teach you, if you are so preoccupied with what it is that you have lost sight of what can be, to step back and ask for help to see the bigger picture of your success and Thank God it’s Friday!
Pray with me: O Allah! Bless me with the spirit of goodness, patience and understanding. Help me convert my detractors to my uplifters, channel my enemies to be my friends, grant contentment to my friends never to become my enemies, turn my adversaries to winning channels and grant be greater achievements in all my endeavours by Your Mercy, Amin!
Good morning. Jumah Kareem and a enjoy relaxing weekend ahead!
