Divine wisdom: The passage,
“verily, if any of you did evil in ignorance, and thereafter repented, and amend his ways, lo! He is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.” QN6:54 reminds us that, at those times when we fail to get help for our past emotional hurts and find ourselves treating others like we were treated and repeating our past in our present, we will blame the failure of the relationship on our partner’s habits, looks, attitudes and ways of going about things, and in so doing, remain emotionally stuck and trapped by the unhealed, unrecognised sources of our dysfunction.
In other words, we will end up hurting the most important people in our lives and maybe destroy those relationships without knowing why.
So let the knowledge that:
1) When we get rid of our sins and leave all iniquity behind us, our faces will brighten with innocence and we shall then receive the mercy of our Lord;
2) We will be strong and free of fear, we will forget our misery and it will be like water flowing away; and
3) We will be protected, we will rest in safety and many will look to us for help;
Teach you, if you really want to know what you have or truly need, to prepare your heart and lift up your hands to God in prayer!
Pray with me: O Allah! Your forgiveness gives me hope more than my actions. Your mercy is greater than my sins. O Allah! Help me to trust in You and bestow your power of divine insights into all actions that I may appreciate the way forward and everyone around me in making me a better person as I step into my waiting success.
