Divine Wisdom: The passage, “God shall not suffer the reward of the one whose work is goodly to be lost” QN18:30, reminds those of us who are fond of the saying, ‘Money is the root of all evil’ that, The Quran actually says those who “….spend from the wealth We have provided them, Those are the true believers. For them are degrees of high position with their Lord and forgiveness and a bountiful provision.” QN8:3-4. Surely, if you are miserly with the wealth God has placed in your custody, He will not give you more of it, but when we do that which is right before Him, we can expect more and more of His abundant blessings.
In other words, He will withhold no good thing from those whose work is blameless.
So let the knowledge that:
1) What we believe about God and our wealth will determine how we pray and worship Him;
2) Just as it is only when our children reach maturity and demonstrate responsibility, that we entrust them with the keys to the family car, maturity must precede prosperity; and
3) When we have demonstrated maturity, we can go to Him confident that, He will meet us at our points of need and even do more to His Glory;
Teach you, starting from this last Friday in the month of Shawwal, to take steps to start growing and maturing spiritually!
Pray with me: O Allah! Thank you for the gift of life. Help me to grow more maturely in Your words. Help me have my mind fixed on You and Perfect my thoughts and acts, that my heart desires may be connected with Your purpose for me and my offsprings. Amin
