Divine Wisdom: The passage, “If God be with you,no one can overcome you; if He forsakes you, who else can help you?” Surah Aal-i-Imraan – QN3:160, reminds us that because repeated rejection tends to validate the fear that we are inadequate, rather than sit around and lick our wounds when people refuse to receive us or hear what we have to say, particularly when it comes to the opinions of those who we hold in high esteem, we should depart from their presence, shake the dust from our feet and move on to where others gladly receive us.
In other words, failure to express preferences, boundaries or other limitations on how others treat us or interact with us, will lead us to assume that we have none.
So let the knowledge that:
1) The irony in operating out of the fear of rejection is that it ultimately results in the very rejection that we were trying to avoid;
2) With God’s full acceptance, we have no cause to fear man’s rejection; and
3) We should stop responding in ways that encourage continued rejection;
Teach you, this new Month, in order to overcome rejection, to keep God’s opinion of you in your mind at all times!
Pray with me: O Allah! I trust in Your love for me and I solely rely on Your support. Grant me the spirit of self-confidence as I strive to achieve lofty heights by Your mercy, O The All-hearing, All-Seeing Lord!
